Gone but Not Forgotten

Well I have been home now for 19 days, but I decided to share a few of my favourite pics from Paris.

These are from the Muse`e De Orsay. Most particularly, 'Les Romains de la Decadence' by Thomas Couture 1815-1879. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.

This is a massive painting 473.7 x 787.4. It hangs in the main hall at the Orsay and one could spend hours delving into the depths of this painting. So much going on!!!

Classisicm and Romanticism, eroticism and sexual repression, political criticism and Orleanist  ingratiation.

At the Salon of 1847 it achieved a success as vast as its size and ambition, and was soon among the most widely admired, discussed, and reproduced paintings of the 19th century.

Bris-gals in Paris

A collection of Brisgals and sundry visiting misfits hanging out in Paris. Why - because it's Paris. For inspiration, wonder and... "haw haw haw!"
