Snow in Montmarte

We layered-up against the cold and took a trip out to Montmarte to see the snow on the city - it was worth the chilly, slippery, soggy effort!  Here's some of what we saw....

Amandine

Snow body's fault

Dear readers, please forgive the lack of
chronology in the next phew photos as
we were having blogging related issews!
(as in I cant work the program very well!)

***********************************************

But  see first photo as we had big excitement for our first "snow falling" experience for Lonswa, Amandine and me
In fact I had never ever seen snow before!
Im still in disbelief about it all.
Pete wants me to hug and talk to the snow... I think he has had too many cognacs!
hmmm ...or maybe he needs a few more

Loni is overwhelmed by snow on her coat...
...Views from the laundry...

From Lonswas balcony

Outside now and overlooking a disused raliway track

****************************************
On our way to lunch at Signes restaurant
(At Signes many of the staff are deaf and they encourage people to learn French sign language.
There is even a brochure on each table with simple signs and the French alphabet.)

Amanda doing her best 20's look, ahem...
where is that hat now Amanda???

Being in the snow is a grate experience!

Your cognac was this big
The excellant and funny waitstaff at Signes

From now on is the back and forth from our flat to the restaurant
It may make your head spin so watch out!
**********************************************

The first snowflake...awwww

Not just dandruff but dandruff from heaven

The snowflake starts to melt...magical stuff!

The snow falling outside our window....

At Signes restaurant, even the placemats help you with ordering your food

Those markets again! And they're full of fleas!

Temptations are ever present -  seem larger than life
and yummier! (sugar hangover notwithstanding)

The ultimate joint effort.
I found the shoes...
They fitted Amandine parfait so she paid for them
(a brilliant bargain basement 5 Euro)
Loni snapped the whole affair
(ahem Loni the boots were hot pink!
no time for artsy fartsy B&W camera tricks!)

Exhibit A
Yanee gets friendly with the local vendors...
{Malika from Morocco}, and
buys a warm black jacket from her

The locals then reciprocate and also get friendly.
A little too friendly perhaps?

I mean at least dinner and a movie first non?

Stealing a buskers thunder ? (Roland)
Looks like he's offering to collect donations for my pathetic
attempts at playing piano...so why are they all turning away?

Trash is trash no matter where you go
Ahh but this is Eurotrash...
makes it all the more desirable oui?
errr...

...............non!

The Latin dance club in the 11th arrondisement

Most exquisite nightclub of lush environs and decor and 5 glorious levels!
Of course only VIP's allowed on the top floor, altho we tried!

Amandines camera captures some of the breathtaking view,
all accompanied by the pulsating latin beat(dj only unfortunatley)
NB. Pete is to the right of the red flora and
Loni with head down drawing (of course)
the dancers to the right of him

The (empty) vip area bar...(May have been just before we were ushered politely but insistantly to the lower floor)

Couldnt resist lounging on this outrageously decadent regal furniture. There were
so many of these lounges ensconced  in the VIP section that they
almost seemed almost like they could have been Ikea specials...
...now where did I put my gold plated jewel encrusted Allan key?

A photograhers dream yes Miss Amondine?

 Amandine and her brilliant eye

Aww....
The music was fast
The dance was slow...

All fun and games till someone pulls a muscle!

Sexy doncerrrs on ze donce florrr

Getting away with naughtiness
while no one was watching

Latin Shmatin...we bust some of our own moves
this ones called the Aussie crawl
